From April 3rd - 5th 2026, the 2026 GT World Challenge Asia officially ignited. The opening weekend at the iconic Sepang International Circuit proved to be a true test of endurance and tactical precision. As a steadfast partner of ROWE Motor Oil, Craft-Bamboo Racing delivered a masterclass performance, turning the season opener into a solid foundation for their championship campaign.

For this season, Team Principal Darryl O'Young opted for a highly focused strategy, concentrating resources into a consolidated, single-car entry: the #77 Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO. This tactical decision allowed the team to maximize setup precision and operational intensity, with the charge led by ROWE Brand Ambassador Alex Liang Jiatong and co-driver Dean Chen Yu Hao.

Race 1 : Strategic Patience
Saturday’s Race 1 was very tough because of the extreme heat. Starting from the middle of the grid, Alex Liang Jiatong and his co-driver Dean Chen Yu Hao drove carefully on a slippery track to protect their tyres. Thanks to their smooth driving and great pit stops, they managed the tyre wear easily. The #77 Mercedes-AMG held its position well and crossed the finish line to take a fantastic 3rd place in the Silver-Am class and 13th overall.

Race 2 : The Epic Fightback
Sunday’s Race 2 started with a big challenge. A chaotic crash on the very first lap forced the #77 car off the track, and they dropped to the back of the field. However, the team did not give up. The pit wall immediately changed to a very aggressive strategy. With ROWE Motor Oil protecting the engine under high heat, Liang and Chen drove incredibly fast laps to pass many cars. They made an amazing comeback to finish 4th in their class and 14th overall.
