DOUBLE VICTORY IN PARADISE : CRAFT-BAMBOO RACING DOMINATES GTWC ASIA 2026 MANDALIKA
Following a gritty recovery at the Sepang opener, Craft-Bamboo Racing carried their relentless momentum straight into the tropical paradise of Lombok, Indonesia. From May 1st - 3rd, 2026, the GT World Challenge Asia grid unleashed their machines at the breathtaking Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit for Rounds 3 and 4 of the championship.
Faced with extreme track temperatures reaching up to 60°C and unforgiving humidity, the Hong Kong-based powerhouse team put on an absolute masterclass in strategy, tyre management, and speed. Backed by ROWE Motor Oil, the #77 Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO executed a phenomenal clean sweep, capturing two spectacular class victories over the weekend.
Race 1 : Precision Execution and P1 Glory
The standard was set during Saturday’s Race 1. Starting from a challenging 10th place on the overall grid, Alex Liang Jiatong and co-driver Dean Chen Yu Hao navigated an intense, heavily contested opening stint. Mandalika’s 4.3-kilometre layout is notorious for its tricky opening sector. When a timely mid-race safety car neutralization shifted the race dynamics, Craft-Bamboo's pit wall responded instantly with a flawless tactical stop. Capitalizing on the chaotic track conditions, the #77 Mercedes-AMG carved its way to a stellar 5th place overall finish. More importantly, the duo crossed the line to comfortably secure their first Silver-Am class victory of the season.
Race 2 : The Perfect Sweep and China Cup Triumphs
Sunday’s Race 2 threw even more complex variables at the field, including a post-race technical review that tested the grid's operational discipline. Starting further up the order, the Alex Liang/Dean Chen partnership kept their heads cool while rival cars collected penalties for short pit stops. Extracting maximum mechanical durability with ROWE's protection under punishing heat, the drivers delivered blistering, metronomic lap times. Crossing the finish line in a spectacular 6th place overall, the #77 crew secured a magnificent second consecutive Silver-Am class victory of the weekend.
The Road Ahead
With a dominant double-win and a vital surge in championship points, Craft-Bamboo Racing leaves Indonesia with absolute control of their destiny. This performance has proven that the team’s off-season refinements and their technical partnership with ROWE Motor Oil are delivering championship caliber consistency.
The 2026 season challenge continues. Stay tuned for our performance in the Japan round this July!
